Cragston Court is a 20-bedded residential rehabilitation and recovery unit which cares for adults over the age of 18, who have enduring mental health needs.
Based in Blakelaw, Newcastle-upon-Tyne,
Service users are usually referred to us from psychiatric wards or from the community following a number of re-admissions, or from placements where they haven't made a sustained recovery.
Main Duties:
To provides practical support and responsive care to service users who require support in their rehabilitation and recovery whilst ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.
• Observes and monitors the wellbeing of residents ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.
• Provide specific interventions with service users as delegated by a Registered Nurse, and following training and competency attainment. Such interventions include Observation and Engagement with service users, escorting on appointments, and being involved in de-escalation and management of violence and aggression.
• Contribute to a team approach to residential care in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in regular team meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
