Are you a newly qualified Occupational Therapist or Are you soon to qualify as an Occupational Therapist?
At Priory Kneesworth House we are looking to recruit an Occupational Therapist to join our established Occupational Therapy Service. The team consists of: Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants and Activity Assistants.
Kneesworth House Hospital offers: Acute, PICU, High dependency rehabilitation, Secure Service, Rehabilitation & Recovery Service & Bespoke packages.
The Occupational Therapy service implements Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment interventions and meaningful activity programmes across site: on ward, off ward in designated therapy activity rooms, across site facilities, within the spacious hospital grounds & in the community.
Across site facilities include: Fitness centre, Sports Hall, FootGolf course, Animal care and Horticulture.
The Occupational Therapy service also provides service user’s involvement in opportunities such as the: Hospital shop, Library, Café, Service Users magazine, Vocational & Work Opportunity Roles.
The hospital offers a 12 week individual timetable which includes multidisciplinary team input.
The Occupational Therapy service provides person centred and evidence based Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions to support service users with complex mental health treatment needs to engage in their recovery journey & to promote skills, confidence & independence, supporting service users to live their life.

A Priory competency framework and salary banding is in place to support your career development:
Occupational Therapist £28,407 - £34,581
Senior Occupational Therapist £35,392 - £42,618
The OT role will involve:
Under the support & direction of Lead Occupational Therapist:
- To provide an Occupational Therapy led service, utilising Occupational Therapy assessment & treatment model to designated unit(s) / specified service user group.
- Assessment, planning, implementation & evaluation of Occupational Therapy interventions using evidence based practice & recovery principles based on clinical treatment need.
- To work collaboratively with MDT & Occupational Therapy team.
- To engage in supervision, CPD & training.
- To offer support & supervision to Occupational Therapy staff within allocated designated unit(s) & opportunity for Occupational Therapy Students on practice placements.
To be successful you’ll need:
• Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Registration with HCPC.
• Experience of working in a healthcare setting and/or working with service users with mental health diagnosis would be desirable.
