Job Advert Role Description

Priory Hospital East Midlands, located between Nottingham and Mansfield, is a 28 -bedded specialist acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) service for adult females. Conveniently located close to the M1 motorway, it easily accessible patients/colleagues  who need access the service.  Our service offers specialised assessment and treatment to help patients for return to either local services or alternative appropriate accommodation. It consists of 2 9 female acute wards and 10 female PICU (psychiatric intensive care unit) ward. 

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist / Head Of Therapy to join the team. 

You will contribute to the provision and development of the psychology service within the hospital/unit and provide psychological input in line with the agreed service provision, and the identified risks and needs of the patients. You will undertake the role of Psychologist for a designated ward(s) and/or group of patients at Priory East Midlands Hospital

With support from wider MDT/SMT you will co-ordinate delivery of psychological assessment and intervention from other psychology staff including qualified psychologists, trainee psychologists, assistant psychologists and students and where appropriate to act as a point of liaison between the inpatient psychology pathway and the community psychology pathway 

Priory Hospital East Midlands is comprised of:

Sapphire Ward – an female psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU)

Quartz Ward - an acute ward for females

Opal Ward - an acute ward for females 

Our wards offer assessment and treatment to females with a broad range of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia and personality disorders.

This service is dedicated to providing innovative, high quality care, which will enable patients’ recovery and re-engagement with the community.
