Priory Hospital Ticehurst House's Highlands Unit is a nine-bedded acute mental health unit, providing person-centred assessment, treatment and support for adults.

Highlands is situated in a character building, within our extensive main grounds, in the beautiful East Sussex countryside. We accept patients with a range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, stress and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

About the Role:

As an Art Therapist, you will:

  • Provide therapeutic support to young people aged 5-11, using art as a medium to help them express themselves and process emotions.
  • Work as part of a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team (MDT), contributing to case discussions and holistic care planning.
  • Engage in service development initiatives, helping to expand and enhance the care we offer to children and their families.
  • Deliver individual and potentially group therapy sessions in a safe, welcoming environment.

About You:

We are seeking someone who is:

  • Qualified and HCPC registered as an Art Therapist.
  • Experienced in working with children, ideally within a mental health or educational setting.
  • Skilled at using creative techniques to engage and support young people.
  • Committed to working as part of a team and contributing to a positive, collaborative environment.
  • Passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing of young people.
