The Role:

We invite you to be part of our Consultant Psychiatrist team, where your leadership will drive the mental health care provision.

As an Private CAMHS Consultant, you will be at the forefront of psychiatric care, offering both inpatient and outpatient treatment and clinical leadership in our private adolescent mental health unit and private outpatient CAMHS team. You will work closely with our dedicated Multidisciplinary Team to ensure safe and effective service delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

Clinical:

  • Serving as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician within the Multidisciplinary Team
  • Taking overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans
  • Assessment and management of cases collaborating with patients, carers and external stakeholders
  • Chairing MDT/CPA Meetings and adhering to organizational admission and discharge policies
  • Contributing to unit governance through expertise and leadership
  • Assessment and management of outpatient cases collaborating with patients, carers, therapists and external stakeholders

Management:

  • Offering Clinical Leadership in collaboration with the Ward Manager
  • Ensuring the ward complies with organizational and regulatory requirements
  • Active participation in ward governance meetings and organizational quality improvement initiatives and service development
  • Attending Monthly CAMHS governance meetings
  • Attending regular Outpatient CAMHS MDT meetings and involvement in service development

Academic:

  • Participating in monthly Academic meetings
  • Delivering case presentations and teaching
  • Engaging in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives

 

Post Requirements - To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  • Registration on the specialist register with CAMHS CCT/CESR, along with valid AC Status
  • Experience and knowledge in CAMHS
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
  • Commitment to continued professional development
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering patient care while also contributing to team leadership and service development. You will be responsible for:

  • Performing comprehensive assessments and developing treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Leading ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings, and care reviews.
  • Overseeing clinical management of complex cases, particularly those involving risk or challenging behaviour.
  • Supporting patients and families through treatment decisions, relapse prevention, and recovery pathways.
  • Providing mentorship, supervision, and support to junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Driving quality improvement initiatives and maintaining compliance with CQC regulations and national standards.
  • Collaborating with site leadership to ensure efficient service delivery and patient satisfaction.
