Priory Hospital Enfield is a small, specialist hospital providing tailored care across four wards: two medium secure (male-only), one low secure (male-only), and one mixed-sex acute ward (6 male and 6 female patients). Job Advert Role Description

 

The Role: Occupational Therapist

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play an essential role in enabling our service users to develop greater independence, confidence, and control in their daily lives. Using the MOHO framework, you will assess their abilities, design tailored treatment programmes, and implement interventions to help them overcome challenges and progress along their recovery pathway.

You will work closely with our dedicated team of Occupational Therapists and other professionals to deliver a flexible, tiered programme of group and individual interventions.

Core Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments, interventions, and evaluations for a designated caseload using the MOHO framework.
  • Facilitate therapeutic activities and individual/group sessions for service users.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to plan, implement, and review treatment plans.
  • Provide practical advice, support, and education to service users, their carers, and colleagues.
  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation in line with professional standards and organisational policies.

 

  • Conduct risk assessments, identifying any potential hazards in the service users' environment.
  • Attend multi-disciplinary meetings, including referrals, reviews, care planning, and weekly ward rounds.
  • Participate in ongoing service improvement and evidence-based practice, adhering to NICE and DH guidelines.

Core Non-Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Actively promote Occupational Therapy within the service.
  • Participate in the development of the Occupational Therapy pathway at the hospital.
  • Assist in the recruitment of new staff, supported by senior team members.
  • Support the service in meeting performance and contractual targets.
  • Deliver training to other professionals as needed.

Requirements:

  • BSc Hons or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and accreditation by the HCPC.
  • Strong personal organizational skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Experience working with secure and/or acute environments (desirable but not essential).
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
