A new opportunity has come up for a Deputy Ward Manager to work on our NHS Acute Adult Ward. As the deputy ward manager, you will develop your clinical leadership and be a role model while maintaining your hands-on nursing responsibilities.  The key purpose of the role is to take an active role in management of the ward, under the supervision of the Ward Manager, and to take charge in the absence of the ward manager. 
The post holder will be supervising other staff and your main responsibilities will include upholding the core values of organisation and the ward promoting openness, transparency and learning. You may also be required to oversee certain areas of clinical expertise such as medication management and physical health promotion on the ward.
Applicants must be self-motivated with good communication skills and  leadership experience.
Applicants should have the following attributes/qualifications:
• RMN
• Mentorship Qualification (preferred)
• The ability to lead and motivate others
• A genuine interest in quality service delivery and development  
• The ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines  
• Numeracy and evidence of analytical ability
   Experience working in inpatient mental health settings
• Experience in completing audits
