Job Advert Role Description
Summary
Being a Bank Mental Health Nurse at Priory Group will provide you with excellent clinical and educational opportunities as you’ll likely work at different sites, in different wards and teams, allowing you to gain exposure and acquire expertise in many mental health specialities.
At Priory, we aspire to deliver the highest quality of care and support across our residential, nursing, community and domiciliary services. As a Bank Mental Health Nurse, you’ll have the flexibility to support our teams across a range of services and sites. We welcome anyone looking for a more flexible work pattern, additional shifts or an interest in helping people with a variety of needs.
Priory Hospital Roehampton
Roehampton is situated next to Richmond Park in South West London, conveniently located 15 minutes from central London by train.
Roehampton has seven wards with a wide range of specialisms – CAMHS acute and private CAMHS, Eating Disorders (CAMHS and adults), Addictions, and private acute services for adults. All of our wards are rated ‘good’ by the CQC and our hospital has an overall ‘good’ rating. Now is a great time to join us in our journey to ‘outstanding’.
We benefit from having established MDTs on our wards, with consultants who are leaders in their specialisms. Due to this wide range of specialisms we have at Roehampton – we offer a variety of training, including eating disorders training (including training in enteral feeding), addictions training and working with young people training. As a bank RMN you would have access to this training.
One of the main priorities for the SMT at Roehampton is developing the staff we have, and celebrating the great work our teams do for the patients we support. To that end we are recognising our bank staff and rewarding their flexibility by offering an extra payment every month (paid at the end of the month) if certain criteria are met around working on a variety of wards and working at least four shifts in a four week period.
Who we are
Priory is the largest private behavioural health provider in the UK, with around 350 services across adult care and mental health. We strive for excellence and although most of our sites are rated as Good or Outstanding by the CQC, we always strive to do better. Putting our people first is central to our values. This includes the people we support and their families as well as our dedicated staff making a difference everyday.
Working at Priory
We do our best to match you with the services and shifts that work best with your skills and lifestyle. But no matter where you work, our Bank Mental Health Nurses are always part of the team. You’ll be in all daily meetings and involved in all relevant decision-making. Your ideas and expertise will be heard as we all work together to provide the best for our patients.
As well as the flexibility to work around your life, we want to make sure you feel at home with Priory. You will be partnered with your own dedicated line manager who’ll check in with you regularly to make sure you have the right training and support you need. Depending on the site you’re working at, you’ll receive either free or heavily subsided meals and almost all of our sites have free parking. You will also be entitled to annual leave. Many of our Bank Mental Health Nurses have progressed or transitioned into permanent positions with us, so this could be an option if your situation changes in the future.
