Job Advert Role Description

Priory Hospital Solihull is a 31 bedded mental health rehabilitation and recovery (R&R) service for adults.

We have 3 wards:

Arley – 10 bedded female R&R
Elkin – 10 bedded male R&R
Millison – 11 bedded male R&R community facing ward

Patients are accepted from all over the UK (although most patients are from local areas) and have a primary diagnosis of a Serious Mental Illness. We accept patients with additional complexities such as physical health conditions, substance misuse, and secondary mental health issues.

Priory Hospital Solihull benefits from a stable and established MDT which includes the Medical team, OT, Psychology, Nurses, HCAs and Ward Managers. The hospital offers a range of assessments, treatments and interventions with a strong focus on patient collaboration in decision making and working with people in the least restrictive way.

Job Profile

The role of the Registered Nurse (RMN/RNLD) is to work as an effective member of the Multi-Disciplinary team, promote the best interests of our patients and ensure that prescribed nursing care is effectively implemented. Our Registered Nurses are responsible for maintaining a safe care environment, exercising professional accountability and responsibility using professional skills, knowledge and expertise in changing environments and work within the scope of professional practice.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Abilities 

  • Qualified Registered Nurse (RMN/RNLD) or nearing the end of your nursing degree/masters
  • Knowledge of NMC guidelines, requests and professional practices
  • Evidence of post registration continuing professional development (desirable but not essential)
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality
  • Ability to develop and use flexible and innovative approaches to practise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary:

Newly Registered Nurse:

£31,500 (until preceptorship completed)

Staff Nurse:

£34,900 - £37,227

Senior Staff Nurse:

£37,992 - £40,455

 

Enhancements:

  • Additional 25% for overtime hours worked Monday – Friday
  • Additional 50% for overtime hours worked Saturday and Sunday
  • Additional 100% for hours worked on a Bank Holiday
