Hazelwood House is a 12 bedded low secure unit for adults with a primary diagnosis of Learning disability and secondary mental health issues currently rated as Outstanding by the CQC. We have a strong focus on recovery and enabling patients to reintegrate back into the community. add bespoke pod.

Hazelwood House is a low secure unit for adult males with learning difficulties and mental health needs based near Chesterfield and we were recently rated as outstanding by the CQC. 

We are looking for a person who is patient focused. We would prefer experience in working with learning disability in a forensic setting but will consider applicants with the right aptitude and willingness to learn.

  • To undertake psychological assessments of service users, including self-report measures, rating scales, and semi-structured interviews.
  • To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service user’s problems and risk behaviours.
  • To assist in the co-ordination and co-facilitation of therapeutic groups as appropriate. Designing manuals based on Psychological therapies 
  • Assists with the planning, delivery and review of one-to-one sessions.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records in the form of case notes, case files, clinical reports and other associated documentation presenting and sharing relevant information with colleagues, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings such as Ward Rounds, and CPA's (Care Programme Approach) .
  • To support and undertake data collection and analysis, for both the purposes of research and service evaluation. This may include collecting and reviewing a variety of data such as psychometric scores, interview data, historical information, literature searches. Responsible for report writing under supervision
  • To support and contribute to the training and support of other staff. Holding reflective practice Case discussions Knowledge / Education / Skills • You will be expected to apply the learning from your undergraduate degree in psychology in your work.

Assistant Psychologists will carry out the above tasks of responsibility under the management and supervision of an experienced and HCPC registered practitioner psychologist, who will provide you with regular supervision to ensure you are supported.


Qualifications
Essential - Bachelor's Degree in Psychology
Desirable - Master's Degree in Psychology
Experience of working with LD / ASD preferred but understanding essential.
