Priory Adult Care is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist adult care services. Our aim is to provide the right support in the right home for all the individuals we accommodate.
With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge. We also offer a range of residential and nursing care settings for older people with varying levels of need.
Job Advert Location Description
Avondale Care Home is located in a residential area of Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, in Scotland. Our home offers specialist nursing and dementia support for 55 adults, with 24-hour input from registered nurses. We can also offer end of life/palliative care and respite services.
We are now recruiting for a Chef to join our dedicated kitchen team in the provision of high quality meals for those living with us.
Job Advert Role Description
About the role
As a Chef working at Avondale you will have a range of responsibilities, including:
Creating, presenting and delivering nutritious meals to a high standard of quality
Developing varied and interesting menus that take into account healthy eating guidelines and any dietary and nutritional requirements
Tailoring meals based on our resident’s preferences as well as their changing dietary needs
Supervising and motivating the catering team, ensuring all activities comply with company Food Safety policies, guidelines and statutory regulations
Monitoring the catering budget and food stock ordering
Supporting the provision of catering operations in line with the company’s policies and procedures
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety within the kitchen/s
Skills and qualifications
Previous experience in a similar role, ideally with a qualification in food catering
Ability to lead a small kitchen team
Excellent organizational capabilities paired with effective communication skills
Enthusiasm, passion and a strong commitment to service delivery
Adaptability and resilience
First class customer service skills
