With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge. We also offer a range of residential and nursing care settings for older people with varying levels of need.

We are now recruiting for a Bank Support Worker to join us and work between our Supported Living locations in York and Stamford Bridge.
About the role
As a Support Worker, you will work on a variety of duties, including:
Promoting independence: Encouraging our service users to live as independently as possible, while supporting them in building their life skills.
Achieving goals: Help set, achieve and celebrate personal goals for each individual, ensuring they progress at their own pace
Daily administration: Updating person centred support & care plans, charts and daily notes.
Encouraging socialisation: Engaging our service users in exciting activities and hobbies that promote involvement and personal growth.
Providing personal care: Assisting with personal care needs, tailored to each individual’s requirements.
Building relationships: Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with external specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams.

About you
You are reliable, friendly, and you understand the importance of a person centred approach, ideally around complex needs.
Your enthusiasm inspires others, and you demonstrate resilience when faced with behaviours that challenge.
With excellent communication skills, you work well in a team and you are eager to learn and continuously develop your skills. You also have an interest in activities such as gardening, arts and crafts, and outdoors activities.

Due to the nature of this role, a valid UK driving licence is required.
