Your Role as a CAMHS Consultant

As an inpatient CAMHS Consultant, you will be at the forefront of psychiatric care, offering inpatient treatment and clinical leadership in an adolescent eating disorders unit. You will work closely with our dedicated Multidisciplinary Team to ensure safe and effective service delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

Clinical:

Serving as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician within the Multidisciplinary Team

Taking overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans

Assessment and management of cases collaborating with patients, carers and external stakeholders

Chairing MDT/CPA Meetings and adhering to organizational admission and discharge policies

Preparing and supervising reports for Mental Health Act Review Tribunals & Managers Hearings

Contributing to unit governance through expertise and leadership

 

Management:

Offering Clinical Leadership in collaboration with the Ward Manager

Ensuring the ward complies with organizational and regulatory requirements

Active participation in ward governance meetings and organizational quality improvement initiatives and service development

Attending Monthly CAMHS governance meetings

 

Academic:

Participating in monthly Academic meetings

Delivering case presentations and teaching

Engaging in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives

To be considered for this role, you should have:

MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych

Full GMC registration with a license to practice

Registration on the specialist register with CAMHS CCT/CESR, along with valid AC Status

Experience and knowledge in CAMHS

Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice

Commitment to continued professional development

Desirable to have significant experience in inpatient CAMHS and treating disordered eating

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

 

The Priory Roehampton Hospital offers treatment for complex mental health difficulties for adolescents within a Tier 4 General Adolescent Unit (12 bedded) and a CAMHS Eating Disorder Unit (18 bedded). In addition the hospital offers treatment in adult eating disorders and general adult acute and addiction services.
