Job Advert Role Description

Priory Hospital East Midlands is comprised of:


- Sapphire Ward - female psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU)

- Opal Ward - an acute ward for females with a broad range of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia and personality disorders

-Quartz Ward - an acute ward for females with a broad range of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia and personality disorders.


The service will be dedicated to providing innovative, high quality care, which will enable patient’s recovery and re-engagement with the community.

Reporting into the Director of Clinical Services (DoCS), the Workforce Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Managing the ward rosters for Nurses & HCA’s
  • Ensuring that any shifts not covered by permanent staff are booked by Bank staff or permanent staff wanting overtime.
  • Booking agency workers should be the last resort to ensure shifts are safely staffed. Supporting Ward Managers to achieve their responsibilities and accountabilities in the provision of safe and effective staffing.
  • Responsible for filling short term vacancies (i.e. to cover sickness) as a priority.
  • Ensure that all agencies used to fill temporary shifts are part of the Priory PSL and in accordance with contractual requirements.
