Job Advert Location Description

Situated within three acres of landscaped grounds, Priory Hospital Chelmsford is an independent hospital that specialises in the treatment and management of adults and adolescents with a range of mental health problems.  There is a highly experienced team of mental health professionals and support staff, which include consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and therapists.

The hospital offers calming and recovery focused residential treatment for up to 60 service users, as well as day care and outpatient services, including separate facilities for young people.

We provide expert treatment for the following services:
•             Eating disorders
•             Child and Adolescent Mental Health
•             Addiction services

Our highly experienced multidisciplinary team deliver personalised treatment programmes alongside the use of a wide range of therapies.  

Job Advert Role Description


An opportunity has arisen for a part time Gardener/ Maintenance person to join the existing maintenance team working to maintain the grounds and carry out various maintenance duties to deliver a safe and clean environment for our clients and staff.
No specific qualifications are needed but experience in gardening, building or good DIY skills would be an advantage. The successful applicant will need to have the ability to work well within a team or on their own. There will be an opportunity to work extra hours when required during the week or at weekends.
Key duties:
• Emptying the outside bins
• Keeping courtyards and ground clean and tidy
• Snow clearing and gritting of designated paths and areas
• Gardening – grass cutting, pruning, flower beds, planting etc
• Taking care of gardening equipment
• Small painting projects
• To conduct inspections as per Priory procedures
• Pool car checks and cleaning
• Maintenance tasks dependant on skills and ability


Desirable skills:
• Basic level of IT skills – email, use of internet, basic Word and Excel
• Good communicator
• Good literacy skills
