Job Advert Location Description
The Service Development Team Leader will have accountability for the performance of the Service Development Managers (SDM) team by being responsible for Healthcare sales and service development nationally.
Duties include:
- Being accountable for the SDM team performance and ensuring the team is professional, offering a quality service (both internally and externally) at all times.
- Providing effective and proactive reporting to the business on team performance and output (Salesforce).
- Providing effective and proactive reporting to the business on current and forecast ADC.
- Undertake regular national travel to support SDM and Operational engagement with Commissioners.
- Lead, develop, appraise and manage the SDM team across all aspects of day-to-day business deliverables to ensure they are fully motivated to achieve best performance to produce results and achieve ADC expectations.
- Utilise the PDR to process to manage and set targets with SDM’s.
- Responsible for achieving budget, effectively using management information to identify underperformance and working with Operations to put action plans in place to deliver improvements.
- Create effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; focus the team to build and maintain strategic, maintenance and development accounts with influencers and referrers.
- Proactively contribute to cross-divisional initiatives and drive the SDM team to maximise cross-divisional opportunities.
- Provide market analysis on prospective sites and business opportunities to ensure viable options are fully explored.
- Ensure communication streams such as the priory healthcare referrals are managed effectively.
- Monitor and update the business on competitor activity, initiatives and customer trends. Actively seek partnership opportunities where appropriate.
- Undertake contract negotiations where appropriate, liaising with the finance business partners the commercial and legal team.
- Responsible for reporting and preparing presentations to the Service Development Director(AC and R&R) – (eg. for operating board, offline bed reporting, service development protocols, site action plans and marketing activities)

What we would like from you:
- Registered mental health nurse qualfied
- Graduate level or equivalent and a proven track record of business development, ideally within the social care and/or experience of development of new services.
- Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise and multi-task.
- Strong analytical skills and detail orientated.
- Highly numerate, excellent oral and written skills.
- High level of commercial awareness and experience of working collaboratively with senior management, credibly influencing at a senior level.
- Well-established network with key referrers and proven track record of building new relationships and influencing change.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to drive change whilst holding a strong focus on Business Development and Sales.
- To be consistent in reviewing any positive change opportunities and carry through desired changes to implementation
