Reporting to the Therapy Business Manager, you will provide day-to-day management and leadership for the Addiction Therapy, whilst maintaining an agreed clinical caseload of patients. You will join the wider management team for the hospital and support with related activities including investigations, audits and ad hoc project work.

Responsibilities

Leading and supporting a diverse range of therapy staff including psychology, therapy, OT, assistants and any other specialisms that fall within the team’s therapy needs.
Facilitating regular management supervision with individuals in line with Priory policy, using a cascade system with other qualified therapists
Follow people management policies to effectively manage the direct report within your team(s).
An agreed reduced level of patient facing clinical hours to create line management responsibility, as agreed with the Therapy Business Manager.
Be available for any clinical issues the team may need, for example managing risk, responding to complex patient needs, supporting individual cases with a wider MDT as necessary.
Supporting the Therapy Business Manager as necessary with the running of the therapy team and attending management meetings as required.
Being aware of how the various therapy roles fit into their wider MDT function, and support as appropriate.
Ensuring a coordinated approach to therapy across the service, including profession specific timetables/approaches.
Working closely with the Therapy Business Manager and the Consultant Psychologist develop therapy services to ensure evidence-based practice and innovation are included.
Work with the Therapy Business Manager to retain therapy staff, and ensure all vacancies are recruited to
Form part of the hospital’s management structure, supporting with Quality Walk Rounds (QWRs), HR and Complaint investigations
Where appropriate, have a strong understanding of the commercial performance of your therapy service regarding costs, revenue generation and overall EBITDA.
Be ready to support with additional tasks where required by the wider hospital and SMT.

Knowledge / Education / Skills

Registered healthcare professional with HCPC (ie occupational therapist, psychologist)

AND/OR

Experienced Psychotherapist accredited with BACP / BABCP / UKCP

Experience

Be able to demonstrate clear and motivational leadership skills to support a diverse therapy team
A sound understanding of a wide range of therapy roles and their application in a mental health setting
Experience of supporting individuals with management supervision, and established skills in staff retention
Can give examples of showing a calm and supportive approach in demanding environments
Have had experience in a commercial or business setting to show an understanding of cost management skills
Can demonstrate skills of flexibility and being able to respond to changing business needs
Experience of working to a financial budget and understanding of using P&L
Line Management/Leadership experience is desirable OR a willingness to build this
Previous use of Priory policies regarding ‘people management’ will be beneficial 
Business Development and Innovation are key to maximise the opportunities available to the service

Colleagues must be aware of local child and adult protection procedures and who to contact within the Local Authority Safeguarding team for further advice.
