Llanarth Court Hospital is a 95 bedded forensic hospital providing a secure environment consisting of medium, low and open rehabilitation settings  for men and women with mental illness and or personality disorder.

Llanarth Court are recruiting for a Charge Nurse to join our team.

The charge nurse role will be to support the ward manager in managing a secure ward with patient's under the mental health act who have a diagnosis of mental health, personality disorder and or learning disability needs.

 

The successful candidate will:

•          Have clinical and leadership experience that provides the expertise and confidence required to support the wider nursing team.

•          Be able to respond flexibly to change and the developing needs of the service.

•          Be responsible for deputising in the absence of the ward manager if necessary and therefore must demonstrate a willingness to develop and expand on their existing roles and responsibilities

•          Be role models for their peers and demonstrate core priory values at all times therefore the expectations of this will need to be clearly set out.

•          It is also desirable to have experience in a forensic setting though a keen desire to work in this challenging field is necessary

•          The role will require being a clinical lead and an understanding and knowledge of patient's needs is essential.

•          You will need to demonstrate the ability to assess and teach junior staff and have good leadership skills. The ability to have a flexible, positive, team orientated approach is required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Abilities

•          Registered nurse with active NMC PIN with 2 years post qualifying experience

•          Relevant clinical experience

•          Demonstrates a positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality

•          Ability to develop and use flexible and innovative approaches to practise.

•          Excellent verbal , interpersonal and written communication skills
