Llanarth Court Hospital is a 114 bedded  forensic hospital providing a secure environment consisting of medium, low and open rehabilitation settings  for men and women with mental illness and or personality disorder.

Llanarth Court are looking for experienced Senior Healthcare Workers, with an interest in working within the largest forensic hospital in Wales.

The successful candidate will play a key role in:

  • Supporting junior HCW’s and mentoring all new starters.
  • Being a positive role model and displaying a creative approach to new initiatives. 
  • Acting as a ward champion in specialist areas of forensic service delivery, such as security, RRIT, Hand-Cuffing and Positive Behavioural Support.
  • Delivering training topics confidently.

As a Senior Health Care Worker you must:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a healthcare setting / or similar environment
  • Hold a driving licence, with a no more than six penalties and be prepared to become a hospital driver. 
  • Educated to a minimum NVQ Level 1 or hold GCSE’s in English and Mathematics. NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care would be advantageous.
  • Have completed the Care Certificate (or be prepared to complete)
  • Understand the need for strict confidentiality
  • Demonstrate basic IT literacy

As a Senior Healthcare Worker, you’ll be part of a large multi-disciplinary team supporting patients to receive optimal care.

This is an exciting time to join Llanarth as we continue to develop our service. For example, we’re currently building a new state of the art 28 bedded unit, due to open in 2025.

This role requires compassion, a willingness to be creative in approach to patients and their needs and a desire to persist in finding the most helpful ways to interact with patients and help them reach life goals.

The successful candidate will be expected to work 37.5 hours per week (with contracts of 45 hours on offer) over a seven day period, based on the needs of the service.
