Priory Hospital Barnt Green is located in the stunning Lickey Hills Country Park, 10 miles south of Birmingham City Centre. We have thirty-three beds across three wards including a ten bedded female NHS Psychiatric Intensive Care, a thirteen bedded mixed gender NHS acute service, and a ten bedded private acute ward beds for both men and women.

In addition to providing inpatient services, the hospital has a large Outpatient Department, a Daycare Service and regional conference facilities. These services are expanding to include pathways in ADHD, Autism and potentially CAMHS this year so this is a fantastic and exciting time to join our Therapy Team.

We support a wide range of clients and needs from referral systems including consultant Psychiatrists and PMI Companies.

Job Advert Role Description

We are looking for a Sessional DBT/DBT Skills Therapist to join our Outpatient Team, supporting clients with needs such as Depression, Anxiety, OCD and Trauma. The successful candidate would be expected to see up to 6 clients a day and to adhere to all clinical duties including documentation keeping, liaising with the wider MDT and external services if needed and completing necessary processes using Priory Systems.

Sessional Therapists who are not DBT Skills trained may also be considered for this role but preferably, you will have received training in DBT Skills already to support our current referrals.

Successful candidates would be registered and preferably Accredited with a governing body such as the BACP. Specialisms such as EMDR are also are desired to support some of our more complex referrals.

As a Sessional DBT Skills Therapist, you will be expected to consider referrals of a higher complexity at times such clients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar Disorder.

Sessional roles are based on a referral system which operates on an expectation of a 48 hour turn around to ensure our clients are seeing as quickly as possible for their treatment. There may be time that your days are busier than others but know at Priory Hospital Barnt Green, we aim to keep our employees busy, upskilled and supported the best we can.

Additionally to this, you will be part of a much bigger team. At Barnt Green, you will work alongside Therapists, other Psychologists, Consultant Psychiatrists, Nurses, Catering Teams and more. Although this role is for our Outpatient Service, this does not limit the experience and day to day contact you will have with other professionals. As our services grow, so do our opportunities.
