Priory Hospital Bristol is part of the Healthcare Division of Priory Group and has 76 beds over 7 wards varying from Eating Disorders, Acute Mental Health, Acquired Brain Injury, PICU, Huntingdon’s and Dementia.

Expressions of interest are welcome for a full time Ward Manager on Lotus, our specialist Eating Disorder Unit.  This is a full-time permanent post. The salary for this position is between £47,494.51 to £53,449 depending on your experience.

Lotus Ward is a ten bedded, mixed gendered, specialist eating disorder unit that runs a diverse therapy programme. We are dedicated to providing personalized anorexia treatment, support and therapy.  Patients admitted to the ward for treatment will primarily have a diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa but may have co-morbid mental or physical health conditions such as Autism, PTSD or Personality Disorders. The MDT work in collaboration together to create a personalised treatment plan for all patients.

The focus of our unit is to help patients recover from their eating disorders and gradually get them back into healthy eating behaviours and to be able to have a good relationship with food and their weight.

Reporting to the Deputy Hospital Director, you will be involved in the overall management of the ward, overseeing staff rotas and engagement, ensuring  the highest standards are maintained in personal care and meeting the psychological needs of a diverse group of service users with varying degrees of eating disorders, affecting their mental and physical health.  You will be caring and attentive with the skills to build strong and trusting relationships with people.  It is also important that you are able to work unsupervised with a high degree of autonomy and be able to motivate and guide your team, in a fast paced environment.

What you will need:

  • A qualification or relevant experience in healthcare management to ward level
  • Experience of working with Eating Disorders
  • High levels of customer service
  • A strong sense of responsibility & ownership
  • Willingness to learn
  • Effective communication skills
  • Flexibility and strong “can do” attitude

This post will offer the successful candidate a real opportunity for personal and professional development within a highly challenging environment – managing and building a new team and service will, we hope, inspire and challenge you, give you the experience and confidence to grow and form constructive professional relationships with colleagues and patients.  You will report directly to the Director of Clinical Services and, as an experienced practitioner, the team will look to you for direction and encouragement.

What we offer:

  • £5,000 Welcome Bonus
  • Free Parking
  • Subsidised on site meals
  • Employee Referral Programme (earning up to £1000)
