Job Advert Role Description

Priory Hospital Barnt Green are looking for an experienced Housekeeper to join our Housekeeping Team. While experience in healthcare is not essential, it is preferable as housekeeping in a hospital setting is complex and challenging at times especially during a pandemic!

You will report to the Head Housekeeper and ensure that the hospital is clean and presentable. You will be supported by an experienced Support Services Manager, and together with your colleagues from the Maintenance and Catering Teams, you will ensure that the healthcare team are supported to deliver high quality care. We welcome people from all backgrounds and value the contribution that your life experience, culture and world view can bring.

This role will involve spending large periods of time working in clinical environments, both on our wards and our outpatient department. You will spend time working on your own with patients, often in their bedrooms with them and therefore your ability to positively engage with people is vital in this role. You will receive full training, support and guidance to enable you to feel confident and comfortable in your role. As part of this you will need to complete some bespoke training, including prevention & management of violence and aggression training (PMVA). You will also need to complete an enhanced DBS check (it’s worth remembering that a “positive disclosure” such as a criminal record will not automatically exclude you from working with us but it is highly recommended that you talk to us about anything you think may be disclosed as early as possible).

Our Hospital is open 24hrs a day and this is not a typical 9am-5pm role. You will work as part of a rota covering 7 days a week typically working shifts from 7:30am until 2:30pm every day (including weekends).
