Position Type: Full-time or Part-time, negotiable

We are looking to employ an enthusiastic Psychologist to work across two of our inpatient wards: a 14- bed mixed Rehabilitation and Recovery (R&R) ward and a 10-bed men’s Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Bristol Priory Hospital is an esteemed provider of mental health services, dedicated to delivering accessible and compassionate mental health care. It is in an exceptional location in Bristol, offering a unique environment and a diverse range of services, we aim to provide the highest quality of care and support to those seeking help with their mental health. Our Grade II listed hospital building is set in extensive grounds, just off the M32 and less than three miles from the centre of Bristol, with free on-site parking. We offer 86 beds spread over eight wards, providing a wide range of services, including Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU), eating disorders, acute care, rehab, and recovery. Our collaborative environment fosters opportunities to gain experience in various services.

Key responsibilities:

  • To provide specialist psychological and / or mental health input for our male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and Rehab and Recovery wards.
  • To provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and therapy.
  • To work within the MDT and contribute to ward rounds and Care Plan Approach (CPA) meetings.
  • To deliver regular Reflective Practice for the ward staff.
  • To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of one’s psychological practice.
  • To administer Psychometric tests and other evidence-based assessments as clinically indicated.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and Psychotherapists. Your typical day will involve a diverse mix of individual sessions, assessments, clinical support to the team, and group work.

Qualifications:

  • HCPC registration
  • Prior experience in inpatient mental health services

Training and Development:

We provide comprehensive training on our systems and policies to ensure your success. Additionally, we offer individual specialist CPD opportunities and are willing to fund ADOS and ADI-R training.
