Job Advert Role Description

Priory Hospital Bristol is part of the Healthcare Division of Priory Group and has 86 beds over eight wards varying from Eating Disorders, Acute Mental Health, Adult Psychiatric Intensive Care, Addiction and Neurocognitive Disorders.

We are looking to employ an enthusiastic part-time occupational therapist to join our therapy team on a fast-paced, 10-bed adult acute ward.

The role will involve completing assessments, developing and implementing person-centered treatment plans, facilitating group and 1:1 work, facilitating graded exposure, educating on coping strategies, completing community signposting and contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings. You will also be working alongside another occupational therapist, an occupational therapy assistant and may be required to provide supervision to occupational therapy staff.

Although you will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, comprising of nurses, healthcare assistants, psychiatrists and a specialty doctor, a large part of the role will also involve autonomous working. You will be expected to apply your occupational therapy skills, complete thorough risk assessments and use evidence-practice to guide your therapeutic interventions.

Previous experience working in mental health is essential for this post.

The post holder must have a degree in Occupational Therapy and be HCPC registered.
