Job Advert Role Description

Waking Night Shift – Eating Disorders
Stroud – GL5
£12 per hour.

Hours are 10pm-8am, 10 hour shifts. We are looking for people to do 2, 3 or 4 nights per week.

This fantastic opportunity will be based at Althea Park House, our 7-bedded Victorian Town House residential home located in Stroud, which provides a home from home care setting for males and females, aged 17 - 25, with an eating disorder. The site also includes The Anchor, our 3-bedded Semi-Independent Step-Down home.  This provision is part of Priory’s Transitional Living Services for Young People and Young Adults, offering individuals the best possible care in their recovery journey.

We can offer you the support and training you need from beginning your career in healthcare to working your way to your next advancement, we can provide both fully funded study support and training to help you form the career you want. We offer very specific training around the role, including a 4-day Eating Disorders Course.

As an Eating Disorder Support Worker you will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support bespoke care plans which focus on how to manage the symptoms of their eating disorder and other co-morbid diagnoses, alongside supporting our patients in building skills for independence in the community. It is this ‘live’ approach to life skills that makes such a significant difference to a patient’s outcomes. This is carried out across 7 days a week.

Hours are 10pm to 8am - 10 hour shifts.

We are looking for people to do 2, 3 or 4 nights per week.

Waking Night shift: 10pm-8am

To be successful, you will need:

Good communication skills
Ability to work flexibility
Basic Literacy skills
Common sense approach to problem solving.
Basic numeracy skills
Motivation and initiative
Some appreciation of Mental Health problems
Enthusiastic approach to activities and skill building 

Qualifications:

Education to GCSE Standard
NVQ or equivalent would be an advantage.
