About Priory Hospital Middleton St George

With a CQC rating of ‘Good’ (July 2021) the Priory Hospital Middleton St George is located in extensive grounds close to Darlington, County Durham 40 minutes from the coast, 30 minutes from the Yorkshire Dales and within easy reach of the cities of Durham and Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

The seven wards of the hospital provide individualised treatment and care for people with mental health needs, including adults who present with complex and challenging behaviours. Staff wellbeing and recognition is a priority with various events held throughout the year to thank staff for their contribution and commitment to the hospital. The hospital’s grounds are also used for various events such as sports days and barbeques for patients, carers and colleagues.

As well as free parking on site, supplemented meals on shift, and access to an on-site gym, there is a staff lounge with excellent facilities for breaks.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Abilities

  • Registered nurse with active NMC PIN
  • Newly Qualified nurses welcomed as Preceptorship can be offered
  • Relevant clinical experience
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality
  • Ability to develop and use flexible and innovative approaches to practise.
  • Excellent verbal , interpersonal and written communication skills

Our shift patterns are

- Day shifts  7am until 7:30 pm

- Night shifts 7pm to 7am
