A Pioneering Role for Passionate Therapists in Mental Health Care

The Priory Hospital Southampton, a distinguished member of the Priory Group, is renowned for its comprehensive inpatient treatment services for a broad spectrum of mental health challenges. Strategically located in Marchwood, amidst the serene outskirts of Southampton, our hospital is a haven for recovery, hosting 42 inpatient beds across three specialized wards. Our team is comprised of seasoned mental health professionals and supportive staff, including consultant psychiatrists, nurses, specialty doctors, occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers, and a dedicated Psychology team, all working collaboratively to offer a wide range of inpatient mental health services.

Seeking a Dynamic Therapist to Join Our Multidisciplinary Team

We are on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic Therapist, fully accredited in their area of expertise, to play a crucial role within our multidisciplinary team (MDT). Your mission will be to provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions across all three wards, enhancing the quality of care for our patients.

This role is a 0.7 FTE position, offering flexibility to accommodate the right candidate's needs and aspirations, in alignment with our service requirements. Our psychology team, including a CBT therapist, Psychologist (who also serves as our psychology lead), and a 0.5 Assistant Psychologist, eagerly awaits your collaboration.

Your Impact: Shaping Therapeutic Excellence

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver individual and group psychological therapies, adhering to evidence-based practices across our three wards.
  • Conduct assessments, formulations, and offer specialist consultations, particularly across our two acute wards.
  • Engage with our psychology team in the creation and development of group therapy programs and partake in our weekly group consults.
  • Seize opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD), tailored to support your career progression and personal goals.
  • Support staff wellbeing through group clinical supervision and reflective practice sessions, fostering a nurturing environment for both patients and staff.

Who You Are:

  • You hold full accreditation in a relevant therapeutic field.
  • You are experienced and trained in one or more modalities such as CBT, DBT, CAT, CFT, ACT.
  • You have experience in secondary care mental health settings, dealing with severe and enduring mental health difficulties.
  • You are enthusiastic about contributing to a service that is person-centered, compassionate, and constantly evolving.
