Job Advert Role Description

The Priory Highbank Centre provides specialist care and rehabilitation for adults and children who have sustained a brain injury, including ventilator dependent, and is part of the Priory Group.  The centre is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of adults and children through close interdisciplinary team working

We are a small multi disciplinary team consisting of Doctors, nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language therapists and a dietitian. We operate as a close team to develop and improve the independence of all our patients. Utilising a holistic patient centred mindset we develop all of our progammes with the patient and their families and facilitate various social activities to help enhance their daily lives.

We are currently recruiting for a Generic Therapy Assistant to aid with the rehabilitation and wellbeing of our patients. You will be working closely with the Nursing and care staff, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists and Speech and Language therapists to deliver outstanding care and to promote the independence of the patients. This is a physically demanding job that offers you a great opportunity to be able to learn new skills and develop your understanding of healthcare as a whole.

You will be required to support senior staff in planning and delivery of therapy. Including but not limited to planning, preparation and delivery of therapeutic sessions either with a therapist or independently. Helping new patients become orientated and feeling at home at our facility. You will be required to manage and maintain accurate electronic records of any therapy or social sessions with patients under the guidance from the therapists and nurses; ensuring that appropriate members of the team are updated with any changes in the patients presentation.  There are opportunities to expand your role and become a manual handling trainer or RRIT Trainer.


The successful candidate will be required to apply for a disclosure at the enhanced level from the Disclosure & Barring Services, which will be paid for by the Priory.
