The Priory Hospital Southampton is part of the Priory group offering inpatient treatment for a wide range of mental health difficulties. The hospital is located in Marchwood on the outskirts of Southampton and comprises of 42 inpatient beds across three wards. We have a highly experienced team of mental health professionals and support staff which include consultant psychiatrists, nurses, specialty doctors, occupational therapists, dietetics, social work and a Psychology team. The three wards in the hospital offer a range of inpatient mental health services.

 

 

Job Advert Location Description

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Therapist who holds full accreditation appropriate for their training to work as an integral member of the MDT to support in providing evidence based therapy interventions across all 3 wards.

The post is for 0.7 though there is flexibility for the right candidate and this can be agreed with the psychology lead and in line with the service needs. Our psychology team consists of a CBT therapist and Psychologist who is also our psychology lead and a 0.5 Assistant Psychologist.

The role will involve offering both individual and group psychological therapies in line with evidence based practice across the 3 wards. The role will also include assessment and formulation and specialist consultation across the 2 acute wards.

Alongside a diverse mix of clinical work, there will also be an opportunity to work with the psychology team to write and develop group therapies programmes, become part of our weekly group consult alongside excellent CPD opportunities depending on your personalised goals moving forward with your career. There is an opportunity to get involved with staff support and wellbeing through running both group clinical supervision and reflective practice across the wards.

Full accreditation relevant to your training is an essential requirement for the role, alongside training in one or more modality namely CBT, DBT, CAT, CFT, ACT. Experience within a secondary care mental health setting both community and / or inpatient with individuals who experience severe and enduring mental health difficulties is also desirable for the role. Your clinical supervision needs will be met either in -house or funded externally to align with your modality.
