Llanarth Court Hospital has built a strong reputation over almost 30 years for providing high quality care in secure conditions, offering a range of therapeutic and leisure opportunities, and making full use of its extensive grounds. The hospital has 95 beds across 7 wards with male and female medium secure, and male low secure and rehabilitation wards. There are plans to upgrade the facilities, with a new purpose-built accommodation block and improvements to the existing patient accommodation.
Information technology is widely used within Priory Group to improve the quality of care and the productivity of professionals.
A vacancy has arisen for a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist / Consultant General Psychiatrist with interest / experience of Secure Mental Health care, with opportunity to work in Low Secure units at Llanarth Court Hospital however for candidates looking for permanent roles there would be opportunity within Medium secure and Low Secure services . The unit is supported with 24/7 Resident Medical Officer Support and 6 Consultant Psychiatrists providing medical leadership to their respective wards. Each ward has a full multidisciplinary team (MDT), with a psychologist, occupational therapist and social worker.
There would be expectation of On-calls for permanent staff, which will be on a non-resident basis. This is currently a 1 in 5.
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria: -
Essential:
Fully registered and licensed medical practitioner
Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists
On Specialist Register
Approved Clinician in Wales
Desirable
Experience in forensic psychiatry
