Situated conveniently in the Borough of Enfield with excellent transport links, our facility offers a range of services, including medium secure, low secure, and locked rehabilitation wings. With a multidisciplinary approach, we work primarily with men diagnosed with mental disorders.
Job Advert Role Description
Role Overview: As the Head of Occupational Therapy (OT), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and expanding our therapy services, particularly in the development of a new acute ward. You will oversee and manage the OT department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality therapeutic interventions to a caseload of 10-20 individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Department Management:
Lead and supervise the Occupational Therapy department, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to integrate OT services seamlessly into patient care pathways.
Drive the development and implementation of OT strategies in alignment with the hospital's overall objectives.
Service Development:
Contribute significantly to the establishment and enhancement of therapy services within the new acute ward.
Assess the needs of patients and develop tailored OT interventions to address their requirements.
Innovate and introduce evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes and experiences.
Caseload Management:
Manage a caseload of 10-20 patients, providing individualized assessments and treatment plans.
Monitor and review patient progress, making necessary adjustments to optimize therapeutic interventions.
Professional Development and Training:
Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and development, ensuring the OT team stays updated with the latest practices and methodologies.
Provide comprehensive induction and ongoing training opportunities to maintain a high standard of care delivery.

Requirements:
A recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and relevant professional registration.
Substantial experience in a clinical OT role, preferably within mental health or secure settings.
Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing an OT department.
Strong communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
Commitment to delivering patient-centred care and continuous service improvement.
