Job Advert Role Description
The Senior Mental Health Act (MHA) Administrator will work with a team of Mental Health Act Administrators and a Regional Mental Health Law Lead to support sites across the North region. This will include a working with a range of different services, ward and teams.
The role will be based at Middleton St George, close to Darlington, which is a specialist inpatient service for adults with mental health needs, who present with complex needs and behaviours that challenge, in a safe and supportive environment. The service provides high dependency rehabilitation units, specialist personality disorder rehabilitation with a dialectical behaviour therapy focus, and community focused rehabilitation care.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-organised individual with experience of administration. You will work with the North Regional team to support the Mental Health Act Administration service provided to patients, staff and stakeholders.
You will need to be a strong communicator, well-organised individual and have administration experience. The ability to prioritise, work on your own initiative, show reliability, tact, flexibility and adaptability are key.
This is a specialist role and you will be provided with an induction programme and then offered supported and training as you develop within the team. All our Mental Health Act Administrators are expected to place patient experience and care at the centre of their approach.
It sits within a newly formed larger regional team and the post-holder will be a part of creating a supportive community of practice across multiple sites.
The role will report to the Regional Mental Health Law Lead but will also work closely with other Mental Health Act roles to support our Hospital Directors to meet their duties under the Mental Health Act. You will receive support and development from the regional team and others working in Mental Health Act roles across the country.
