Job Advert Role Description
We have an excellent full time opportunity to work as a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist on Evergreen unit which is a mixed gender CAMHS unit. Evergreen Ward is a fifteen-bedded high dependency adolescent inpatient service following a general acute pathway alongside an alternative pathway for young people with disordered eating. The ward can admit male or female young people aged 13-18 years old, experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, with associated risks and complexities that necessitate inpatient assessment or treatment. Whilst not all young people will have eating issues, the ward has a specialism in also managing young people with disordered eating, which may be related to complex Anorexia nervosa with co-morbid risks, may relate to ARFID and/or Autism or may be secondary to emotional dysregulation and trauma. We aim to provide high quality, effective care to young people who are unable to maintain their own safety or of others around them and are experiencing an acute mental health crisis, which cannot be managed in a community setting. Whilst risk presentations necessitate a safe environment, we aim to provide a homely and least restrictive setting, ensuring that a young person’s privacy, dignity and contact with family and friends is maintained as best as possible throughout admission. Our main aim is to understand and help the young people we support, developing a robust formulation for the young person, including families/caregivers, professionals and wider systems to ensure a collaborative approach and shared understanding. The goal is to enable the identification of appropriate interventions both on the ward, and for future pathways of recovery. Personal recovery and future planning is at the forefront of our care planning. Priory is the UK's largest independent provider of Mental Health Services.
