Medical Secretary

Permanent 37.5hours per week, we're also looking on a part time basis for 30 hours per week.

Job involves working as part of a medical secretarial team to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Consultants  

The successful candidate will have significant proven experience with excellent organisational and communication skills. You will provide an efficient and professional secretarial service ensuring business processes are effectively and resourcefully managed to support the delivery of a quality care service. A varied role, tasks will involve working with and supporting consultants, arranging internal and external meetings, diary management, minute-taking, preparing meeting notes, copy and audio typing experience, collation and input of data, proofreading documents, dealing with medical records requests and general administration.

Job involves working as part of a Medical Secretary team to provide secretarial support to Consultants:

To provide a complete confidential general and medical secretarial service for the consultants and their team
Proven experience with excellent organisational, planning and communication skills within a secretarial function
Responsible for the organisation of internal and external meetings, preparation of agendas and taking minutes of meetings
Copy and audiotyping (desirable)
Knowledge of various Microsoft office software including outlook, word, PowerPoint (desirable), Excel, Carenotes (patient database)
Dealing with medical records requests, ie redacting, scanning and able to meet deadlines
Diary management
Collation and input of data
Archiving of patient records
Filing, photocopying
To sort, distribute and prioritise e-mails, using judgement and experience
Excellent telephone manner
Receiving of complex information.  To exercise initiative and judgement based on acquired knowledge and experience when dealing with enquiries of a clinical and non-clinical nature
