Chef Job Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Chef to join our Catering team, working to deliver high standards of service delivering both fresh and balanced meals for patients and staff in our hospital.

Our Chefs are responsible for:

  • Planning, preparing, cooking and serving meals within our hospital, ensuring all activities and operations comply with operational standards and statutory regulations.
  • Following our company Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Monitoring quality whilst ensuring high levels of service
  • Ensuring that stock ordering and rotation is organized in an efficient and cost-effective manner

 

Unlike many other Catering roles, the shifts at Priory Hospital Burgess Hill do not include split shifts or late evening work. A typical shift would be either 10am - 6pm or 8am -4pm, and you will work weekends on a rota basis (approximately every other weekend). 

In this role there are opportunities to apply for company funded training and development relevant to your role. We have a career pathways system which encourages our staff to develop within their area and you will be fully supported to do so.

 

What we need from you:

  • NVQ3 in Intermediate Food Safety Certificate / Basic qualification in Food Hygiene
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Experience of preparing, and cooking meals gained within a professional kitchen environment
