Job Advert Role Description

Due to limits on sponsorship allocations, we are not currently in a position to offer sponsorship to new candidates for these roles, this remains under review.

Situated within three acres of landscaped grounds, Priory Hospital Chelmsford is an independent hospital that specialises in the treatment and management of adults and adolescents with a range of mental health problems.  There is a highly experienced team of mental health professionals and support staff, which include consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and therapists.

The hospital offers calming and recovery focused residential treatment for up to 60 service users, as well as day care and outpatient services, including separate facilities for young people.

We provide expert treatment for the following services:

  • Eating disorders
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health
  • Addiction services

We are looking to recruit a dynamic, reliable and creative individual to join our Catering team. You will be responsible for assisting with the provision of a high quality catering service in line with Priory policies and procedures with a particular emphasis on the planning, preparation, cooking and serving of meals. Under the supervision of a Catering Manager you will ensure compliance with safety legislation and Priory policies. You will assist the Head Chef by researching and creating new menus to ensure meals are of high quality including cost effective and efficient control of stock of food products, placing orders and reconciling deliveries. It is a small team so you will need to be able to work independently in the absence of the Head Chef and supervise assigned catering staff to ensure the quality of work continues to meet the required standards.

The successful applicant will be educated to NVQ2 or equivalent or qualified by experience in Catering with a basic qualification in Food hygiene. Having experience within a professional kitchen environment will be an advantage.
