Job Advert Role Description

Ready for the recognition and rewards you deserve?

We don’t just talk about putting employees first. We know that Priory wouldn’t exist without their combined energy, expertise and effort.  So we invest heavily in training, provide first-class support, promote collaborative teamwork and give everyone on our team the opportunities and resources to achieve their full potential.

Althea Park House is a 10 bed specialist residential home, part of Stroud Residential Eating Disorders Service, for adolescents and young adults, aged 16-25. Our homely environment helps us to work creatively alongside our service users to seek a life outside of the confines of their eating disorder.

Althea Park House is a very warm environment and as with many homes, the kitchen - based in the middle of the home - is the hub.

The role of the cook is of particular importance in our Eating Disorders service. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside one other cook to shape the role. Whilst fundamentally it is about providing meals to the service users and the staff that support them, they would have the opportunity to work alongside the service users, role modelling a healthy attitude to food preparation. There is the option to work with other members of our team to run a group that teaches cooking skills which can include menu planning, budgeting, food preparation and portioning food.

You would join a team that includes a Dietician who would work with you to create menus that meet the needs of our service users, an Occupational Therapy Team that support the service users to build their Independent eating skills and a Care Team who sit alongside the service users daily to support them to eat the food that is prepared.
