Hazelwood House is a 13 bedded low secure unit for adults with mental health & learning difficulties.

We have a strong focus on recovery and enabling patients to reintergrate back into the community. .

Hazelwood House is a low secure unit for adult males with learning difficulties and mental health needs based near Chesterfield and we were recently rated as outstanding by the CQC.

 

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic, forward thinking and innovative team. We are ideally looking for someone who is sensory trained or willing to undertake the training as part of the role.

 

You will be required to:

•           Engage the patients on the unit in helpful, therapeutic and meaningful activity.

•           Manage and co-ordinate individual treatment plans for occupational therapy and activities

•           Provide 1:1 OT assessment and treatment and in particular advise on physical & sensory needs

•           Ensure effective supervision to more junior staff

•           Develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues ensuring clinical practice is in line with Priory policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards specifically regarding risk assessment.

•           Provide excellent oral and written communication and possess exceptional organisational skills

 

BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy together with full BAOT membership and HPC registration is required and experience within the learning disability field would be desirable.
