Job Advert Role Description

Set in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, close to Birmingham City centre, Priory Hospital Woodbourne is conveniently located for access to the West Midlands motorway network and with very good local public transport links.

Woodbourne hospital provides a diverse range of inpatient services. These include acute and psychiatric intensive care services for adults, Child and Adolescent Mental Health services, a specialist adult Eating Disorder service and a private addictions service.  Across seven wards, our multi-disciplinary teams deliver personalised treatment programmes to our patients and have established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care.

The Manor is a nine bedded private adult ward providing assessment and treatment for addiction.

Inderviduals access our service either by self funding their treatment or accessing their private medical insurance. This unique and exciting opportunity means that you are working with individuals who have chosen to actively engage in their recovery.

We recognise that substance addictions, including alcohol and drug addictions, as well as broader behavioural addictions such as gambling, internet, love and sex and shopping addictions, can have a profoundly negative impact on all areas of an iderviduals life, including their ability to function on a daily basis. This may impact on interpersonal relationships, performance at work, and their physical and psychological health.

At Woodbourne, we ensure that inderviduals are placed at the heart of their addiction treatment journey so that they benefit from a truly bespoke package of care, in order to produce the best possible outcomes for them as an individual, and allow them to overcome their substance misuse or addictive behaviours

We are looking for an experienced RMN/RNLD to take on the role as a highly motivated and committed Deputy Ward Manager. The successful candidate will take an active role in managing the ward.

You will have proven leadership skills, along with a strong drive to develop yourself and the dedicated Multi-Disciplinary Team. If successful will directly participate in patient care, managing the ward and offer a high standard of care to the service users that we work with.

Applicants must have at least 2 years’ experience as a  Staff Nurse.

The successful candidate will be expected to be a motivated leader, with excellent proven managerial and leadership skills that continuously strives for the highest standards of quality care and has patient safety at the forefront of the services and care provided.  You will be provided with excellent training and personal development opportunities and will be well supported by networks within the hospital and the wider organisation.
