Job Advert Role Description
Mildmay Oaks is a low secure and locked rehabilitation service for men with learning disability and autism spectrum disorder, and for women with learning disability.
Purpose of Role:
Under the guidance and instruction of the Administration Supervisor, Charge Nurses and Deputy Charge Nurses, the Ward Administrator performs a variety of clerical and non-medical duties on the wards.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- General administration duties to include shredding, scanning, faxing, photocopying, filing, ordering stationery
- Support wards with referral processes
- Distribute ward post
- Handling telephone calls
- Data entry on to Electronic Patient Records system
- Support Charge Nurses with staff annual leave records
- Assist with patient archiving
- To provide cover for the Reception as requested by the Administration supervisor
- To undertake any other tasks that are commensurate with the postholder’s level of responsibility as requested by the Administration supervisor
- To attend staff meetings and internal/external training events as and when required
- To take personal responsibility to ensure work practices and the environment meet the requirements of ‘Health and Safety’ at work legislations and report any deficits to management
- To accept responsibility to maintain the confidentiality of information relating to patients and others in line with the Data Protection Act, 1984, Access to Health Records Act, 1991 and any other relevant legislation
