Job Advert Location Description

Priory Hospital Barnt Green is located in the stunning Lickey Hills Country Park, 10 miles south of Birmingham City Centre. We have thirty-three beds across three wards including ten NHS Psychiatric Intensive Care beds for women, thirteen NHS acute beds for men and women and ten private beds for men and women. In addition to providing inpatient services, the hospital has a large Outpatient department and regional conference facilities.

The acute wards on site provides patients with excellent space and facilities, including en-suite bedrooms and large living spaces furnished with activity equipment such as games consoles.

Outside of the wards, a purpose built therapy suite contains a rehabilitation kitchen for patient cooking sessions, and a sessional therapy room. The hospital is set in the centre of an extensive nature reserve, which contains an abundance of flora & fauna. The site also has areas for outside sports activity.

Job Advert Role Description

The Priory Hospital Barnt Green seeks a new Admissions Officer to join their team.

As the Admissions Officer you will provide a bed management function ensuring a smooth and timely process for all prospective clients wanting to start their journey; whether this be as an inpatient, outpatient or day patient.

You will need great communication skills as it will be a daily task to liaise closely with referrers, commissioning bodies, Consultant Psychiatrists, hospital Senior Management and Admissions Team.

You will coordinate all bed moves, room changes, admissions and discharges assisted by highly skilled multi-disciplinary teams (MDT).

The successful candidate should be professional at all times

 

Excellent Communication, Inter-personal and Customer Service skills are essential.

 

Competent use and knowledge of IT systems database and accurate keyboard skills

 

Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.

 

Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems

 

Good working knowledge of Excel

 

Having extensive knowledge of Microsoft packages is vital as all the daily information and tasks are retained for auditing and reports.

 

Previous administration skills essential

 

Attention to detail is essential.
