Mildmay Oaks is a low secure and locked rehabilitation service for men with learning disability and autism spectrum disorder, and for women with learning disability

A variable role undertaking general day to day maintenance throughout the hospital wards and its grounds supporting the maintenance supervisor as appropriate

Basic understanding of Health and Safety, fire regulations and COSHH, electrics and plumbing with experience in general building maintenance. Be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the hospital

The post holder must have a good command of the English language.

DUTIES

Under the direction of the Maintenance supervisor you will:-

1. Maintain the interior and exterior of buildings.

2. Carry out general electrical and plumbing repairs as directed by the maintenance supervisor.

3. Cleaning windows, guttering and general building repairs

4. Unblock drains and toilets

5. Assist with maintenance of the grease pits and cesspits

6. Maintaining hospital grounds to keep neat and tidy and in good repair

7. Carry out painting and decorating as required

8. Assist with carpentry and basic furniture repairs, woodwork and changing locks etc

9. Help with vehicle maintenance where appropriate

10. Collect goods and materials from local suppliers as and when required

11. Maintain a safe and secure environment by being aware of staff, patients and visitors security.

12. Be aware of and comply with the responsibilities arising from the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any local interpretations and assist in regular monitoring and maintenance of equipment in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.

13. Follow a daily task list and work in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

14. Participate in any other relevant duties as agreed with the General Manager.
