Job Advert Role Description
In this role you will be responsible for overseeing 3 hospital sites at night (PHEM, PHL and Hazelwood) on a rotational basis providing leadership and support to ward based nursing teams.
- Priory Hospital East Midlands is comprised of:
Littlemore Ward - female psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU)
Barton Ward - an acute ward for females with a broad range of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia and personality disorders
- Priory Hospital Lincolnshire (PHL)
Lancaster – for males who require stabilisation and support to decrease their levels of challenging behaviour
Scampton – providing continuing care with a focus on rehabilitation, community reintegration and preparing the person to move further along the care pathway, or to community living
- Hazelwood House Low Secure unit for males with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, who have co-morbid complex care needs, including those of mental illnesses and autistic spectrum disorder (ASD)
The Night Manager will work alongside another NSM on a 3/4 pattern so as to provide support to the 3 hospitals with support / cover 7 nights a week. You will be based at PHEM but expected to visit PHL once a week. In addition you will be expected to cover HH & PHL when needed if the unit is unsettled.
In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the hospitals at night, providing leadership and support to the ward based nursing teams, and clinical supervision.
You will ensure that a high standard of patient care is provided and that wards hopsital comply with all quality standards and statutory requirements throughout the night shift.
You will also be required to carry out some audits, quality walk abouts and supervision of staff.
Essential criteria:
RMN / RNLD
Post registration experience.
Experience of working as a Deputy Manager or equivalent role
Good working knowledge of the Mental Health Act
Ability to undertake physical requirements of PMVA
Ability to be responsive and flexible
