Job Advert Role Description

Priory is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All staff and volunteers are therefore expected to behave in such a way that supports this commitment.

The Safeguarding Assistant will help to support our busy in-house safeguarding team in order to provide an efficient and timely process for our service users and hospital. The successful candidate will work closely with the team opening them up to opportunities to gain important knowledge around safeguarding processes and legislation.

The roles main duties include, but are not limited to:

-maintaining the site safeguarding and CQC logs;

-assisting with quality assurance of CQC notifications and submitting these to CQC in a timely manner;

-notifying Local Authorities and families when a child had been admitted for a period of 3 months or more under section 85 of the Children Act 1989;

-compiling monthly safeguarding data reports for stakeholders;

-compile reports for, and attend, the site’s safeguarding clinical governance committee sub-group

-providing administrative support to the Social Work team where required

 

What we are looking for from the successful candidate:

- Excellent standard of literacy

- Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

- Organised

- Keen eye for detail

- Great time management

- Some administrative experience is desribale

- Ability to spot patterns and trends amongst large amounts of data

- Experience as a Healthcare assistant or similar role in mental health services (desirable but not essential)

All training will be provided. Working hours can be split over 3 or 4 days as per candidate preference.
