We are currently looking to build a dedicated team of Senior Support Workers for a new service of ours in Burnley. This is a new purpose-built development which is a 5 bedded residential property (all self-contained accommodation) for complex individuals with autism and/or learning disabilities including behaviours that challenge. This is a chance to be part of a brand new team who will shape the service from the very beginning and make it a flagship service serving the people of Burnley and surrounding Greater Manchester boroughs.

Our ideal Senior Support Worker will:

 

  • To provide support to the residents with complex needs in their everyday lives
  • Tasks involved with daily living such as maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Participate and initiate activities in and outside of the home.
  • Provide support that will enable the service user to live as independently as possible.
  • Use skills, previous experiences and knowledge to respond to challenging situations & behaviours
  • Support staff with coaching, mentoring and personal development
  • Team management – lead the shift, plan activities and staff rotas.

We are looking for a candidate who has experience within a similar role/ environment or someone who has been a support worker and fells ready to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will have access to our Priory Adult care careers pathways, a number of courses to assist self-development towards leadership and management (NVQs, train the trainer).
