About Priory Enfield :

 

Priory Hospital Enfield is a 53 bed hospital in the Borough of Enfield and is situated with very good transport links. The site provides services in both a forensic setting (male medium secure & low secure) and acute services (mixed sex). The hospital can cater for up to 53 patients at one time across the four wards, and the responsibility for staffing the hospital is of vital importance.

About the role : 

We are looking for a Ward Manager to join our progressive team within Priory Hospital Enfield. The successful candidate will manage the ward and its resources taking appropriate action to ensure that standards of care are exceptional. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the nursing team possess the skills, knowledge and motivation to offer and deliver the highest quality of care to our service users. Reporting to and working with the Director of Clinical Services, you will assist with the development of our services ensuring wards are run effectively, and the delivery of our exceptional standards of performance that have become synonymous with Priory Group.

The SMT will listen to your thoughts and ideas and you have the opportunity to be really involved with and to influence the future direction of our services. You will provide senior nursing leadership to the ward nursing team. You will therefore act as a visible role model to promote a culture of learning development and team vision.

Requirements:

  • You must possess a nurse qualification
  • Current NMC registration
  • Experience of managing others
  • Willingness to complete further clinical, managerial and leadership training
  • Computer literate - you are responsible for rota management
  • As a member of the leadership team your communication skills and motivation to strive for excellence yourself and via others will shine through.

Key Duties Include:

  • Planning and co-ordinating the quality and management of nursing care, patient care and the clinical environment
  • Rota management
  • Making sure that the physical healthcare needs of patients are assessed and managed effectively
  • Ensuring that all patients have clear current care plans that reflect their personalised needs
  • Undertaking direct patient care where necessary
  • Ensuring the ward complies with statutory regulations, current legislation and meets quality standards
  • Ensuring that all members of the nursing team receive clinical supervision, appraisal, CPD requirements and complete mandatory training
