Job Advert Role Description
Priory Group is one of the UK’s leading providers of independent specialist secure and step-down care across the UK.
Located in the historic city of York, Stockton Hall Hospital is a medium secure 112 bedded unit spanning over 7 wards, caring for people with mental illness, personality disorders and learning disabilities.
The role:
- Washing up, cleaning kitchen equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for upon delivery.
- Deliver meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit in a timely and efficient manner.
- Adherence to all food safety procedures.
- Regularly responds to routine enquiries from colleagues and patients.
Skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a similar environment preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment essential.
- The jobholder requires basic numeracy and literacy together with an appreciation of basic food hygiene.
- Self-motivating and ability to work under own initiative.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn are more important than experience.
Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7 days working every 3rd weekend – shift times are 6.30 am – 2.30 pm and 10.15 am – 6.15 pm. Weekends 8.00 – 4.00
The role holder works within a busy kitchen environment using a variety of equipment where many routine tasks are repetitive and require a degree of sustained physical effort and concentration.
Due to limits on sponsorship allocations, we are not currently in a position to offer sponsorship to new candidates for these roles, this remains under review.
