Due to our ongoing development of the Therapy team and therapy provision at Priory Hospital Preston are looking to recruit a Full or Part Time experienced Occupational Therapist to join the team.
Priory Hospital Preston is a 38-bedded independent mental health hospital based in Bartle in Preston, specialising in the management and treatment of acute mental ill health and eating disorders. Opened in 1998, the hospital has established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care together with an extensive range of services delivered across three units:
Bartle Ward – 10-bedded eating disorders
Cottam Ward – 12-bedded acute mental health
Rosemary Ward – 16-bedded acute mental health
The post holder will work within a wide Multi disciplinary team, and work closely with the Therapy Manager in developing a comprehensive Therapeutic programme for their designated ward. Consequently a team approach to working is essential, excellent communication skills with both colleagues and patients is essential within this role.
You primary duties will be within one of our 2 acute psychiatric wards. There will also be a requirement of support to our Eating Disorder unit.
The successful candidate must show excellent skills of independent working, pro activity and organisation. Key aspects of the role will include the facilitation of therapeutic groups, supporting patients via internal referral in 1:1 sessions, and liaison with community agencies.
Candidates will ideally have 2 years qualified experience. Flexibility is required in this role which will encompass one day weekend working per fortnight. Hours of weekend work negotiable.
We will offer you a salary of up to £28,038 based on your skills and experience PLUS £3000 Welcome Bonus
