Job Advert Role Description
Priory Lakeside View are recruiting for a 2nd Chef to join their team.
Lakeside View is a 28 bedded hospital in Willenhall that cares for patients who are 18 years and over in an acute setting.
We are looking for a 2nd Chef to join our catering team to assist with the provision of the catering service within a hospital environment. We are after someone with a real passion for food and who is dedicated on providing a high-quality service and understands the benefits of providing healthy and nutritional meals to help towards our patient’s recovery.
You will report to the Head Chef and together with your Catering Assistant you will ensure that patients, staff and visitors are offered tasty and nutritious meals which are prepared to a high standard. Your role will consist of the planning, preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
Our set shift pattern of 4 days a week (8am-6pm) and alternate weekends also provides a great work life balance!
The role includes;

Actively involved in the preparation and cooking of food, as well as supervising the work of catering support staff and ensuring operational standards comply with the company’s catering policies, guidelines, and statutory regulations.

Ensures the effective and efficient planning and delivery of all aspects of food preparation and cooking, taking account of dietary and nutritional requirements within the unit.

Ensures that stock ordering and rotation is organised in an efficient and cost-effective manner

Assist with researching and creating new menus with the team.

Be creative in making meals and treats for patients’ birthdays, staff wellbeing, religious holidays and special theme days in line with Priory’s Diversion, Inclusion and Awareness Calendar.
- Takes full shift responsibility for the catering operation (in the absence of the Head Chef)
Knowledge & Skills:
- NVQ2 or equivalent or Qualified By Experience in Catering together with a basic qualification in food hygiene
- Knowledge of food allergens and dietary requirements.
