Priory Hospital Nottingham is looking for a Speciality Doctor – Salary up to £90,000

 

Conveniently located close to the centre of Nottingham, meaning we are very accessible via bus, train or car.

 

Priory Hospital Nottingham is a mixed sex 14 bed unit providing acute adult mental health services, delivered in partnership with the NHS. The hospital has been rated as ‘outstanding’ in its most recent CQC inspection.

 

The medical team comprises of a permanent Consultant Psychiatrist, supported by a Speciality Doctor and a full multidisciplinary team.

 

The aim at Priory Nottingham is to provide a person centred approach and therapeutic environment, which promotes collaborative care planning to optimise treatment goals and recovery. This is a unique opportunity for career development in a hospital where extensive medical support is provided to our patients.

 

  • You will work alongside a Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Director covering the 14 bed acute service. Alongside the Consultant, you will provide medical care for patients, referred by our NHS partners. 

 

  • During working hours, you will be responsible for admitting new patients, attending ward reviews and reviewing the mental and physical health of patients throughout  admission and at appropriate intervals. Each patient is reviewed in a weekly multi-disciplinary setting.

 

  • You will support the Consultant and MDT with assessment, appropriate investigation, diagnosis and treatment of patients.  Good communication within the MDT is essential.

 

General working hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00, with a 1 in 5 on call frequency.

 

What you need

 

  • Full GMC registration
  • Relevant experience within a similar setting (preferred)
  • Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (preferred but not essential and you will receive support with this)
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 (2007) and Code of
  • Practice along with Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity
  • The ability to interview, assess and write clear and comprehensive medical notes

 

Desirable: Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists, Physicians, General Practitioners or equivalent but you will receive support with this.
